The Simulation and Analysis of the Energy Matrix (SAME) model is a computer tool developed by The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), which allows the construction of different prospective scenarios for the energy sector for medium and long-term study horizons; through the use of technical coefficients, extracted from the National Energy Balance of a base year.<\/p>\n

This tool is very versatile in the projection method, since it allows generating trend, evolutionary or rupture scenarios in a very agile way. Allowing to simulate policies of diversification of the matrix of final consumption, electricity generation and total energy supply.<\/p>\n

Through SAME, the effect of climate change mitigation programs can be analyzed, such as: greater penetration of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency measures.<\/p>\n
